The new Fusion is the answer for every sailor that wants smooth sailing with exceptional speed and effortless control. Fusion's new deeper draft below the boom, and raised leech for improved twist result in the most comfortable sail we have ever offered.

Designer Tom Hammerton tuned the highly sucessful 1998 Fusion to create this season's increadible sails.
The main changes from the 1998 model are in the shape, outline & clew. We rounded the clew and were able to shorten the boom by about 5 cm on the bigger sizes. The boom remains nearly the same on the 4.5 m and down. The outline is higher in the head area which makes for a better pumping and light air ability. The shaping has been tuned up with the addition of a second luff panel which holds the draft forward & steady, while creating a slightly deeper profile in the lower part of the sail.
The Fusion has 3 different X-ply laminates, a PVC window, 175 micron monofilm, and full gridlock reinforcing. The unique lowered PVC window softens the feel, and the batten right in the boom area smooths the power in a way a single cam can not.
We continue with all one color sail body, and we will have a few new colors like blue, & yellow.

To: hot@hotsailsmaui.comRigged and sailed the 5.0 Fusion in 20-30 Gusty, flat water conditions.
Mast: Fiberspar 430 Reflex wave w/ 5cm extension.
Fin: Fanatic sweeper.
Board: Fanatic Ultra Gecko, 278, 105l, 58cm wide.
Me: 200#'s. 6'1"Good: Very controllable, Easy to rig
Speed: excellent...I am used to a Neil Pryde full race 5 cam 5.0, this sail
is just as fast. Handled high wind very well.Negative: Almost nothing negative...maybe a little more draft movement than 5
cam under extreme conditions...but what can you expect?I noticed that the correct front harness line position seems to be right on the curved seem. This holds true for the whole quiver...it makes life easier.
Overall: Great! I hit incredible speed and great jibes on a tough, off-shore NE wind day.
