The brain child of Hot Sails Maui's new race sail designer, Philippe
Massat, the Mach 1 is result of exhaustive research with world cup racers
and world champion speed sailors. Philippe has been working this decade
in the shadows with the biggest names on the tour and is very highly regarded
by the world's top racers. Now Philippe works exclusively with Hot Sails
Maui and directly with windsurfing super star Robert Teriitehau.
Robert, one of the top 5 windsurfers in the world and current indoor world
champion, will be making some strong statements on this year's world cup.
He was speechless after sailing the Mach 1 for the first time. "This
sail is incredible! Magic!" were some of Robert's comments.
The Mach 1 is a unique sail with nearly symmetrical leading and trailing
edge curves. It's unique shape incorporates a full foil all the way to the
top of the sail, yet a complete range of twist resulting in even handed
power and complete control.
