When your ready to get seriously fast, but not ready to break your
bank, the SR3 is the perfect balance of power, speed and value.
Three cambers on "Cam Tracks" support a deep driving foil in the
lower 30% of the sail for drive in light wind, or heavy chop. As the wind
picks up, the upper section of the sail opens, transforming that power into
all out speed. The concept is not new, but the refined shape and resulting
speed and easy handling are very new!
For weekend racing and all out drag racing friends the SR3 will deliver
everything you are looking for on those less than perfect wind days. Unusually
lightweight, you will find this sail fast and effortless to sail in all
conditions. We designed this sail to excel on moderate to light wind days
on race and slalom boards. We kept the sail lightweight by limiting all
the but the 7.8 meter size to 6 battens and 3 cambers. The luff sleeve is
of a moderate width, wide enough for a smooth air flow, but narrow enough
to assure quick water starting. As with all Hot Sails Maui cambered sails,
the SR3 rotates gently in all conditions.
Construction includes 175, 125 micron monofilms, our exclusive Super opaque
low tenacity film, and a 3 ply scrip for abuse near the deck of your board.
All the reinforcing layers in corner patches, batten pockets, foot and leech
plys are double sided to assure both symmetrical tensioning, and maximum
durability.
