Topic: Windsport magazine Fall issue

There is a one page article on Dax Barker, youngest   ever Ho'okipa  sailor... 7YO ...crikey !!

Very nice reading and accompanied with several nice Hot Sails  in the photos.

Which Superfreak is Dax sailing in the large photo ?
please before it drives  me nuts !!

My "guess" is a Maui Edition  custom

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

It looks too thick, too rigid and too straight to be a rope. Unless he's using 1/4" mainsheet line!

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

Remember everything he is using is small. The boom diameter is 25mm or 1 inch! He is 25kg (55lbs) so even though the picture looks like a normal person sailing, he is tiny, hence the large looking line.

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

Brian Carthwright on Maui who has been making my boards for some time. Perfect little 55L that Dax can sail well and even up haul!

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

I have a BC board on order and I just can't wait to get it. I got to try Brians own 62 liter 6'10 and was absolutely blown away by the way that thing works on the wave. Loosest board ever! Almost scarry

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

Loose, but totally able to draw a long line at high speed. Oddly unbelievable.

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

Can you give me a email contact for BC ?

This is a 7ftx24inch, 81 liter shred-sled by BC. Bottom is flat into concave with deep channels running next to the fins. Full sandwich and carbon-reinforced deck to handle my clumsy forwards and 85+kg. Weight of the board is 6kg with straps.
Works i onshore mush and DL conditions. Grips like a quad and as loose as a twin.

Re: Windsport magazine Fall issue

I am getting a larger wider board that will be a few liters larger than this. Will be a good test for the following possible size that your asking about. I have no idea if this bigger board will be good for my lighter 79kg.
