Topic: Firelight for freestyle?

Hi all,

I am thinking of getting myself a new freestyle sail around 6m - will be my biggest sail. Chris suggested that the Firelight will be good for freestyle. I am tempted - would be nice to try a superlight sail, especially in this larger size. However, this being a wave sail, I am concerned about the amount of shape in it. Will it be a problem if I am trying to learn a funnel or a bob where I need to duck the thing? Even in the simpler moves I can do now (spock, flaka), I wonder if it will depower as well as a flatter sail as I go off the wind?

The other option is a Bolt in 5.9 or 6.2 size...

Would appreciate any thoughts. Nikita.

Your best bet for REAL freestyle will be the Freestyle pro. It is a very flat sail with luff rotation for shape-  a freestyler's dream.

Yes, Chris told me about that one and I am looking forward to seeing these sails later this month. However, from what I understand, the biggest size right now is 5.2. I will most likely get that one, but here in Boston I need a 6.0 to be able to sail more than a couple times a month. If you make a bigger FSP, there will be no question which one to get!
