Hi All
The good news is that our new booms are ready! These are at our factory in China and will be coming to Hawaii in a sea shipment soon. Please contact me if you would like to place a pre-order or ask any questions.

When the booms will be available in Europe? Any pictures of new booms?
Regards,
Robert
Got a couple of sets arriving on Maui this week. Will post plenty of shots. I have been using since last summer (with wrong graphics) and am very pleased. Though I was skeptical of the wider front shape, it is more subtle than most. (I have to say it is damn easy to sail). The 27.5mm diameter is really nice and the booms are bizarrely stiff for alloy, much suffer than our last ones. The RDM only head really makes a difference there, and it is so nice to NEVER have a shim.

So this is the boom in action. This is a 136/192cm with 27.5mm grip. It is RDM ONLY. Quite light, but I will weight for exact weight.

Shoots, just realized this is the sample with wrong graphics, I will show a new photo shortly.
THIS is the boom. It really helps if you want to do a body drag rail ride like Paul is here on a 3.4m Firelight.<image>

Very nice looking booms - nice that you can run up to a 7.0 SF on it.
But I guess it will take a little personal adjustment to use a straight boom compared to the playmate?

Looks like this could end in tears/pain ![]()
Yeah....he looks like he knows what he's doing but in my thinking the claim for something called a "body drag rail ride" requires demonstration of control over a period of time. I suppose fully-engaged drag would imply board and rig control, but this pic looks to be in the midst of coming off the board. I suppose he could be re-mounting (another pre-requisite for completing a body drag, with or without the rail ride tweak).
Whether he landed it dry or not, on a 3.4 in 30 kts, he gets my admiration for going for it!
Surfingsen, one thing JH hasn't revealed on the forum is a brand-new HSM set of board shorts with kevlar-reinforced and foam padded gussets in the crotch. Greatly increases confidence in maneuvers.

Hi Chris/Jeff,
Will the new booms come in longer lengths than the shorter wave version? I'm keen to upgrade my aeron race boom for this summer.
If not what is the boom of choice amongst GPS users (I go from 7.3 to 8.8 - 2010)

I use the Chinook Carbon pro1 180, which goes to 246 extension, although on my 8.8 which lands on these shores tomorrow I will use my slightly older Chinook Alloy 185-247, which has a re-enforced back end (wider diameter tubes). The alloy is quite heavy but very dependable, the carbon is brand new, wet 4 times so far, and I have grown to love it already, I used to love the triple clamps but this is wider allowing for less outhaul without the sail folding over the boom arm.
The new booms will be coming in 2 sizes;
136 to 192
150 to 206
New kids booms are also ready.
Aloha
Hi Chris,
if possible pictures please...

Any updates on the booms ? When can we expect to see them at the online store ?
Found this picture today, could be the new boom, if not delete my post (@ mods).
Looks like the Fire and a few others is out from 2013. http://blog.koreikura.com/seaside/article/35513

There is already a sail called Quad
http://www.sailloft.de/charakteristik.427.html
Perhaps different name.
Will the HSM Quad be based on the materials like the Firelight?!?
