Topic: Maui Van Hire

I'm out in Maui later this year for 6wks and trying to organise my van hire, seems like most of the places people have mentioned to me are now all run by Al West?  Does anyone know of any other options so I can at least compare a few places?

Re: Maui Van Hire

It's gone from all almost all run by Al West to none run by him - he retired and sold out to a guy who now has almost a monopoly - but the prices are still very reasonable and service still good - arguably better without Al.
Maui van, rent a jeep, aloha vans, word of mouth and a few more - all the same.

I have station wagons.

For vans, try:

Re: Maui Van Hire

what do you guys think about station wagons vs vans?  Would you worry about your gear in the back of a station wagon in town?

Re: Maui Van Hire

what's the difference with having the gear in a van?

Anyway, Maui is still RELATIVELY safe for windsurf gear. If I was a thief, I would go for a van... there's probably more stuff inside!

Re: Maui Van Hire

I agree that Maui is still relatively safe for windsurging gear. It is not so safe for surf boards as they have an easier resale market and I would not leave anything on the roof anywhere overnight.
