So another race and another outcome affected by penalties and giant blunders.
You have to hand it to Alonso pulling it all together after his disasterous qualifying. The Renault finnaly seems to be coming together. Somewhat ironic that the best thing Nelshino has done for Renault all year is stuff it in the wall!
It was disasterous timing for Robert who must have thought a podium was on the cards and was then shuffled down the order eventually finishing 11th after his penalty for fueling under safety car. This is in striking contrast to Nico's penalty which barely had any impact on him. It all seemed to come about becaause of the oder in which the stewards reviewed the infractions.
For the record I hate this rule, I think it is stupid. It penalises drivers who have no other choice than to run out of fuel on the track.
As for Ferarri???
They have come seriously unraveled. I expect such shenanigans from Force India but not Ferarri. The team robbed Massa of a race he was comanding, and possibly the world championship. This is not the first time they have had pit release problems. As for Kimi? If you look at the score sheets marked "Fastest Lap" you would assume he had the title wrapped up long ago. He has fastest lap of 10 out of 15 races but only has 57 points to show for it. I don't get it.
As for the track? Well it was done as well as it could have been I suppose. The lighting was superb, I don't think the night thing was a factor at all, but there are 3 major problems they need to fix for next year.
1. The road surface is not anything near smooth enough.
2. The track is too narrow with too many corners so overtaking is extremely difficult.
3. The pit entrance seems hazardous - though no incidents this race.
Overall it was an entertaining race, but it could have been so much better!
