Diony Rules!

1st Diony Guadagnino V69
2nd Gollito Estredo V01
3rd Ricardo Campello V111

The Event in Puerto La Cruz was a big surprise for me, not only because of the 62 plus competitors that participated, the level was also very high, also having the presence of World class champions like Gollito Estredo, Ricardo Campello, Alexis Carache, Juan Marino, Alexis Zaballa and Cheo Diaz, when these following competitors I mentioned above compete in any windsurfing discipline they always seem to give a big headache, what surprised me was the quality of the organization and the professionalism of the regatta comity, that always helps big time.

What helped me to win this event was my physical preparation, focus and comfort I had with my windsurfing equipment, I had it well tuned, especially when the wind blew 18 knots plus is when I feel more comfortable with strong winds, the category of this event was slalom and also a freestyle night exhibition with strong lights, the slalom consisted in two long distance laps defi wind

Sprecks and Lowers Sessions

By Glenn

Here I am riding on a bamboo/carbon creation from Sean Ordonez...this board is so beautiful that at first I was afraid to sail it:) With a maple leaf inlaid into the bamboo deck and another abstract variation painted on the hull this board truly represents my home country, eh!

Araya Slalom-Speed

By Diony Guadagnino

I just got back from my trips in Argentina and Chile, on our adventure we visited some places that where amazing, super different from what I’m used to, landscape wise, it was like if we where on another planet like Mars, the people just were amazing and so helpful, and the food…..best ever!! Please check out our trips that will be coming out soon in the magazines, hope you enjoy it!

I departed from Buenos Aires a few days ago and arrived at home in Venezuela, Caracas, my good friend and team mate Juan Marino picked me up at the air port, he mentioned that tomorrow he will be going to the 2nd National slalom and speed event in Araya to pack my bags again, Araya is the peninsula of Cumana on the main land which is close to Margarita Island, but we had to drive 800K from Caracas, but that was easy after we drove 6,000K in our trips in Argentina and Chile, when we arrived in Araya the wind was blowing around 15-18 knots, I rigged up my new GPS 8.0 to practice for the event and Juan rigged up his 7.3 and Sergio Mendoza rigged up his 6.6 Speed Demon, I was super happy with the performance of our new GPS sails, especially over power they worked great! The next day the event started, when we left our posada to the beach, arriving I was amazed of how many windsurfers where participating, it was way more crowded than Kanaha, it was so funny…jajaja….I never imagined that in Venezuela we had so many and talented windsurfers! we had around 14 kids competing and pro-am sailors the ages varied from 15 to 65 years old, but mostly younger sailors and around 5 master and grand master! In total 70 competitors and still there was missing around 40 competitors that could not show up! Every night we had great party’s on the beach and so many beautiful ladies…. : ) …… Juan Marino V103 took the 4th place in the event, Sergio Mendoza 1st place in the Master division and I got 2nd place…. The level in the pro men division was super high… I would think the top 5 competitors could give some trouble on the PWA top ten list, cant wait for the next national event…it was so much fun and good practice, what I mostly enjoyed was the good vibration with everyone!
