The Butterfly Effect

Hello Everyone,

The Butterfly Effect Brasil 2008 was a great success, and the 7a. edition of the Butterfly Effect was a beatiful event! There were 30 Butterfly Girl participants in the Downwinder from Cumbuco do Taíba. The group comprised 18 windsurfers and 12 kitesurfers with 5 different nationalities - Brazillian, Swedish, Norwegian, Israeli and German! The 50 km downwinder challenge had side-onshore winds which made it really safe.



The group had windsurfers from 3 months of sailing experience up to 20 years, and Kitesurfers from 1 months to 5 years of experience. There was great cameraderie within the group which made for an amazing experience with everyone helping each other out to ensure a safe event.



The girls were rewarded with prizes including purses and wallets from Dakine, hats and a seat harness from Hot Sails Maui and other kit from Dona Florinda. Red Bull girls brough us some Red Bull, which was very welcome in each spot. They loved every minute of it -thanks to everyone who supported this event! With all the German girls representing each sport, it gave us the idea that maybe it is a sign for another 'Butterfly Effect' spot - GERMANY.
