BJORN SARAGOZA

Hi, I am 11 years old, I live in Bonaire and I have been windsurfing for 8 years. I've done a lot of competitions during the last 5 years. My tricks are as follows: One handed Spock 540, Grubby, Body drag, Spock 540, Club First Spock 540, Jump Jibe, Lollipop, Forward Loop, Diablo, One handed Jump, Back Loop, Volcan, Duck Tack, Willy's skipper
BRUNO ANDRE

Bruno was born in Almanarre, one of the most famous “windsurfing” areas in south of France. Bruno later moved to Brittany, which is for him the perfect balance between work-time and windsurfing…not to mention killer wave conditions. As the manager of development & marketing for AHD his job provides unlimited excuses to get in the water. Not a competitive sailor by nature (even though he was, for many years, one of the top 3 French wave sailors). Bruno embodies the true essence of a soul surfer with an unquenchable passion for windsurfing. His quest is to find the perfect harmony between himself and the elements. Bruno recognized the same spirit alive at Hot Sails Maui and more specifically in the SuperFreak. We are very stoked to have Bruno as part of our development team!
KANZA STOTT

Kanza Stott has been sailing on Maui since 1999. Born in 1993 she is one of the top teens on the water and is very aggressive but with a big smile on her face. She enjoys sailing waves at Hookipa, and doing freestyle during the flat summer months. She sails our lightweight Diva sails combined with Hot Rod masts and the lightest boom available the Playmate lite. Her current moves includes sail 360s and Vulcans, but every week she learns something new!
JACE PANEBIANCO

Jace Panebianco is a hard sailor to classify. While he competes on the PWA world tour in Freestyle (Ranked 28th), he is also competitive in racing and wavesailing. The odd thing is that competition isn't what is important to Panebianco. Jace's motivation lies in the adventure--he finds this in the form of travel stories and boat trips, Trans Atlantic Races and inventing new moves like the Crazy Pete!
DIONY GUADAGNINO

Born and raised on the beaches of Margarita, Venezuela, Diony embodies the carefree beach boy style. As a windsurfer Diony belongs among the few select modern day innovators who are combining radical freestyle maneuvers into their wave sailing. His wave riding style combines a smooth flowing style with a fearless drive to hit the most critical sections. Diony is well known for his impressive freestyle abilities and wave maneuvers that boggle the mind. He is currently building his arsenal of sickly tweaked arial maneuvers that now includes an insane double backloop. We welcome Diony to the Hot Sails Maui family and we look forward to watching him on the water as he pushes the limits of windsurfing and continues to blow our minds!
BRIAN TALMA

The "action" man Brian Talma is an icon of windsurfing. His spirit of never ending fun is contagious and unavoidable to all that meet him. Brian is the ultimate ambassador for the sport and Hot Sails Maui is stoked to make his sails!
JEFFREY SUTHERLAND

Jeffrey Sutherland spends his winters training on Maui’s north shore and his summers tearing up the west coast from his home in Victoria, British Columbia to the coasts of Oregon and California. Jeff is a complete natural when it comes to windsurfing whether he is freestyle sailing or wave sailing. In the winter 2004 – 2005 Jeff turned many a head by challenging some of the biggest double mast high waves conditions on Maui with a total balls to the walls type approach. You can spot Jeff’s custom Canadiana SuperFreak from miles away and when you do be sure to say: “How’s it goin, eh!”…you won’t be sorry! Keep rippin it up brudda!
SIERRA EMORY

Sierra is our big Hawaiian waterman and the man who spends the most time at Jaws. The Smack is his sail of choice as he needs good power and absolute durability. (look for a sick video coming soon showing him testing the sail to the absolute maximum) At 6'2 and nearly 200lbs, Sierra can really push the limits.
TORBEN SONNTAG

Torben is one of Germany's most innovative windsurfers. He likes trying new moves and puts his own style into the maneuvers he does. He usually sails around northern Germany and Denmark. In the winter you’ll find him windsurfing at beaches around Capetown in South Africa and for years he returns to Maui every September & October for the big waves. He is more the soul surfer type of guy who sails for his own and doesn’t really like contests too much.
TAKA KAMAGUCHI

Japan's top wave sailor joins the Hot Sails Maui team for 2007. Taka is best known on Maui as the friendliest and most humble ripper from Japan. Always ready with a smile he is a true Aloha man. Taka has won many Japan wave championships and is known as the originator of the "Taka" move in wave sailing. He discovered this when spinning out during a top turn, and sailing a full upwind 360 degrees and continued with his wave ride!
JENNIFER HENDERSON

Jennifer Henderson is currently the undisputed queen of Ho'okipa. A good example of this was Monday October 28th 2002 when a huge swell at Ho'okipa kept all the pros off the water due to 30+ ft waves and light wind. All pros except Jennifer who ripped it up for 1.5 hours alone. Jennifer is responsible for the Diva sail line and Diva board line from Starboard.
JURGEN SARAGOZA

Now 7 years old, Jurgen is sailing his way to fame as the best of the youngest sailors in the world. A bright boy who loves life and windsurfing, Jugens big events outside windsurfing and school are some new teeth coming in! In 2004 Jurgen was able to sailin both Lake Garda, Italy and on Maui, not bad for 7 years old.
DIRK VANKERSCHAVER

Born in Bruges, Belgium, Dirk is now moving to Northern Portugal, which he will call home. As one of the top windsurf-board shapers Dirk perfected his skills whilst working with the likes of legendary shaper Richard Greene. Dirk is also a talented wave sailor with an insane lay-down-bottom-turn in his pocket. He is now working on building his own custom board brand “Lucid Customs” as well as pushing his wave sailing to the next level…we are sure that his new home in Portugal will be perfect for both those ventures. Look for more on Dirk at http://www.lucid-custom.com/
JEFFREY HENDERSON

Founder and owner of Hot Sails Maui. Jeff began his career as a sail designer at the age of 19 when he was hired by the then world-renowned sail brand Hood. He founded their Windsurfing division, which intern allowed him to move from New England to Hawaii. Many years later and countless hours of time on the water Jeff, today, is just as stoked on Windsurfing and life, as he was as a teen hungry for new experiences. Jeff continues to defy convention and by this example he steers the Hot Sails Maui brand into undiscovered aspects of our sport.
Ida Boesen

Ida is one of our teenage riders that braves the harsh Danish cold with a passion! Ida is from Denmark and can be seen sailing her local spot “Veddelev” whenever the wind blows. She travels to Klitmøller in the summer and is rapidly becoming noticed on the water. Only in her 3rd year of sailing Ida plans to spend the summer on Maui and see where the wind takes her! Ida sails on Diva sails and is also sponsored by Roxy.
TEMIRA WAGONFELD

Temira embodies the fun side of a windsurfers's life. Live to sail. When living in Japan, she would skip work for the big day and travel 10 hours by bus to meet up with other sailors at events. Now she chases wind on a daily basis and rarely misses the big wind days on the Columbia Gorge. Her favorite sail is here 3.2 Super Freak (shown on right) and she has little fear of insane wind and lonely cold water. Last winter she braved winds well over 50 knots on a nearly regular schedule.
HIDEHIKO FUKUSHIMA

Hidehiko is a hard core wave sailor that lives and sails in Japan. Living in Tokyo, but traveling throughout Japan Hidehiko has sailed most prime wave spots in his country. Hidehiko is also a contributor to the Japanese windsurf media and offers clinics.
RAIMONDO GASPERINI

Raimondo is the Italian leader of new school freestyle and is the master of port tack tricks. Innovating bizarre moves like back loops coming IN through the surf (!!) set him apart from the mere twirlers of the freestyle circuit. Raimondo has won nearly every Italian event he has entered in the last few years. Look for Riamondo in PWA freestyle events. His secret weapon is the Psyclone, especially in light winds.
MATT SCHWEITZER

Son of the inventor of WINDSURFER, Matt IS windsurfing. He has actively windsurfed longer than any other person on earth. He still rips, and since his 11 year old son Zane has become addicted, Matt is seen every weekend sailing on Maui. Matt has sailed on Hot Sails Maui since 1986, as our loyalist team rider, and we are STOKED to have him.
ALEXANDROS NØKKENTVED

Alexandros is our Danish freestyle dynamite sailor with Greek roots and soon a PhD degree on composite materials! Being one of the top freestyle sailors in Denmark, he loves to slide around no matter what direction or water temperature. Though competitive of spirit, he finds great pleasure in spreading the "freestyle" message throughout his local windsurf community and during summertime where he arranges freestyle clinics at his far-away-from-home-spot `Rhodes´ in Greece.
KALANI HUNT

10 year old Kalani is a self motivated, very driven young sailor on Maui. He is seen sailing EVERY day on Maui in the summer and every windy non-school day during the school year. Kalani is the son of Doug Hunt, the first sailor to complete a back loop in the 80s. Kalani is into sailing, surfing, working out, school, and socializing. He goes to Haiku elementary school on Maui and is in the 4th grade. His stultiloquence is legendary at Kanaha Beach park.
SEAN ORDONEZ

Sean Ordonez is the man! as a sailor he is creative and bold with a flair of style that is totally original. Sean leads the way in board designs and is our detail oriented tester / designer.
GIANPAOLO CAMMAROTA

Giampaolo is an ex Italian engineer who one day decided to follow his dream and thereby moved to Maui to became a windsurf journalist. He believes that having fun should be the only goal of your windsurfing session. Giampaolo loves riding waves on his long board on the light wind days. He especially loves the feeling of going upwind (front to sail). It has been said that Giampaolo would trade his left nut for a session on the SuperFreak…luckily we hooked him up with a quiver of SuperFreak sails before he went to these extreme measures. Giampaolo is one of those guys that always finds a way to makes your day better…keep spreading the Stoke!
BRITTA KÜHN

Britta usually sails in Northern Germany and Denmark. She loves sailing with her Divas in both Waves and Freestyle. This winter she is enrolled in a study exchange program in Gran Canaria. Next summer Britta will compete in the PWA Worldcup Tour.
